Joining the Sartorial Club: My Upcoming Adventures in Sartorial Menswear

I'm excited to share that I've recently become a member of the Sartorial Club, a group dedicated to the art of classic menswear. As a new member, I’m thrilled to dive right into two fantastic events: the Pitti Uomo fair in June 2024 and a field trip to visit traditional Neapolitan tailors in the Chiaia area.

What is Pitti Uomo?

For those who don't know, Pitti Uomo is one of the most important events in men’s fashion. Held twice a year in Florence, Italy, it’s the place to be for anyone interested in the latest trends and styles in menswear. Designers, fashion lovers, and industry pros from all over the world come together to showcase and discover what’s new.

Pitti Uomo isn’t just a trade show; it’s a celebration of fashion. The event includes fashion shows, exhibitions, and plenty of opportunities to network. Florence's historic streets come alive with incredible styles, from bespoke suits to cutting-edge designs. It's an event that captures the essence of men’s fashion in all its forms.

Exploring Neapolitan Tailoring

Besides Pitti Uomo, I’m particularly looking forward to visiting some traditional Neapolitan tailors in the Chiaia area. Naples is famous for its tailoring, and the tailors in Chiaia are some of the best. Known for their soft construction and lightweight fabrics, Neapolitan tailoring combines elegance with comfort in a way that’s unmatched.

This field trip will give me a chance to see the craftsmanship up close. From taking initial measurements to the final fitting, every step in making a bespoke suit is a testament to the skill and dedication of these master tailors.
