About

100 Hands

Few shirtmakers have achieved the reputation that 100 Hands enjoys among sartorial enthusiasts.

Founded in Amsterdam by Akshat Jain and Varvara Maslova, 100 Hands was created with a singular goal: to produce shirts without compromise. The name itself refers to the roughly fifty artisans involved in the creation of each garment, with every shirt passing through dozens of specialised hands before completion.

While many luxury brands speak about craftsmanship, 100 Hands has built its reputation on details that are immediately recognisable to those who appreciate fine shirtmaking. Hand-attached sleeves, hand-finished seams, individually cut components, meticulously hand-embroidered buttonholes and exceptionally dense stitching have made the brand a favourite among some of the world's most respected menswear writers and retailers. Permanent Style famously described the workmanship as among the finest they had encountered from any shirtmaker.

Each shirt requires dozens of hours of work, with the highest-grade Gold Line incorporating more than thirty hand operations and taking up to 35 hours to complete. The result is not merely a shirt, but an example of artisanal manufacturing that has become increasingly rare in modern menswear.

BEYOND SHIRTS

Although best known for their shirts, 100Hands has gradually expanded into a broader wardrobe of refined casualwear.

Particularly noteworthy are the brand's Traveller Jackets and Overshirts. Combining tailoring expertise with the comfort of unstructured outerwear, these garments have developed a cult following among enthusiasts seeking the elegance of tailoring without the formality of a traditional sport coat. Fully unlined constructions, hand-finished details and exceptional fabrics allow them to travel effortlessly between casual and tailored wardrobes.

The Traveller Jacket has become one of the house signatures. Designed as a practical alternative to conventional tailoring, it offers the comfort of knitwear with the appearance of a softly tailored jacket, making it particularly popular amongst frequent travellers and modern professionals.
