Return Policy – Sartorialista
At Sartorialista, we curate rare preloved luxury menswear with great care. As a small independent boutique working with unique secondhand garments, we kindly ask customers to purchase thoughtfully. Returns are handled in accordance with European consumer law while maintaining strict quality standards to protect the value of our collection.
1. Right of Withdrawal (EU Customers)
If you are a consumer residing within the European Union, you have the legal right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without providing a reason.
The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day you (or a designated third party) receive the goods.

A clear written statement is sufficient.
2. Returning the Item
After notifying us of your withdrawal, you must return the item within 14 days.
The customer is responsible for:
• All return shipping costs
• Secure packaging
• Using a trackable and adequately insured service
Responsibility for the item remains with the customer until it is received by Sartorialista Amsterdam.
For international returns, we recommend marking the parcel as “RETURN” to avoid customs complications.
Cash on delivery (COD) shipments are not accepted.
3. Condition of Returned Items
Items may be tried on indoors solely to assess fit, as would be done in a physical boutique.
You are liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the item.
Handling beyond necessary inspection includes, but is not limited to:
• Wearing the item outdoors
• Removing or damaging original tags
• Alterations or tailoring
• Stains, odors, creasing, or visible wear
Where diminished value is found, an appropriate deduction reflecting the loss in value will be applied.
4. Refunds
Refunds will be processed within 14 days of being informed of your decision to withdraw.
However, we may withhold reimbursement until we have received the returned goods or until you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever occurs first.
Refunds include:
• The purchase price
• Standard outbound shipping cost (if applicable)
If a premium delivery option (such as express shipping) was selected, the additional shipping cost will not be refunded.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method.
5. Altered or Personalized Items
Items that have been altered, tailored, or customized at the customer’s request are considered personalized goods and are not eligible for return or withdrawal.
6. Orders Outside the European Union (Final Sale)
Orders shipped outside the European Union are exported goods and are therefore considered final sale. Due to international customs regulations, duties, and cross-border logistics, we do not accept returns or offer refunds for non-EU orders.
However, should the item not work out as expected, we are happy to explore an alternative solution: You may return the item to us (at your own expense) for resale on consignment, subject to approval and our standard consignment terms. This allows the garment to find a new owner while giving you the opportunity to recover part of its value in a sustainable way.
7. In-Store Purchases
Purchases made in person at our Amsterdam boutique are final.
As customers have the opportunity to view, try on, and inspect items before purchase, we do not offer returns, refunds, or exchanges for in-store transactions, except where the item is faulty under applicable consumer law.
8. Uncollected Shipments
If an order is returned to Sartorialista because it was not collected, delivery was refused, or the carrier was unable to complete delivery due to circumstances attributable to the recipient, any actual costs incurred for return shipping, customs duties, taxes, storage fees, or carrier handling charges may be deducted from the refund amount.
Any remaining balance will be refunded to the original payment method once the returned shipment has been received and processed.
9. Thoughtful Purchasing
As a small independent boutique, returns have a significant operational and environmental impact. We therefore provide detailed measurements, professional photography, and transparent descriptions to support informed purchasing.
