Brioni Light Blue Speckled Wool & Linen Vintage Roman-Style Jacket

Discover the Brioni Light Blue Speckled Wool and Linen Vintage Roman Jacket. The cloth is a wool and linen blend in the manner of a summer fabric conceived for warmth rather than heat, the linen opening the weave structure and introducing the dry, breathable hand that makes a jacket viable through the warmer months while the wool contributes enough body that the jacket holds its shoulder line and its drape without the internal structure that a heavier cloth would not require. Light blue in a speckled construction means the colour is not arrived at through a single dye but through a mix of differently coloured fibres or threads woven together, the speckling giving the ground a surface variation and a depth that a flat, solid light blue would not carry, the cloth reading as textured and considered rather than simply pale. The red and black Brioni label inside places this jacket in a specific chapter of the house's history, the logo colouring a dating detail that the house's followers recognise immediately as a marker of the vintage Roman period, the construction and standard of that era present in every proportion.

The Nomentano is one of Brioni's trimmer configurations, built with a higher button stance and a higher gorge than the house's fuller models, the lapel rolling to its break at an elevated point that gives the front a refined, upright proportion. The Roman shoulder is the detail that identifies the house at every point in its history regardless of the model: clean, slightly extended and structured with a precision that creates the broad, authoritative silhouette that distinguishes Roman tailoring from the softer Neapolitan and the padded Milanese approaches. The 2.5-button closure allows the lapel to roll naturally past its break, white mother of pearl buttons set throughout, the pale iridescent shell reading warmly against the light blue ground. Flap pockets sit at the hips, the jacket half lined to allow the wool and linen to breathe freely through the lower body.

Vintage Brioni with the red and black label is a jacket that the house's followers seek deliberately. In light blue speckled wool and linen on the Nomentano, it is easy to understand why.
