Canali Grey Classic Wool-Flannel Multi-Pinstripe Suit

Discover the Canali Grey Classic Wool-Flannel Pinstripe Suit. The cloth operates on two levels and reveals the second only to those who look for it. The ground is grey wool flannel, the fibres milled to the raised, napped surface that gives flannel its characteristic warmth and depth, the grey reading as a composed, serious tone appropriate to the pinstripe's formal register. The pinstripe itself is a multi-line construction, one stripe broader and one finer, the two running in repeat across the flannel ground to produce a rhythm with more visual interest than the single-line pinstripe that most suiting cloth works with, the variation in width giving the pattern a subtle complexity that rewards attention. Then, in certain light and at close range, a third layer appears: a light blue marl woven into the grey ground, the colour present in the yarn's own composition rather than as any applied pattern, the blue emerging from the flannel's surface only when the angle and the light align, invisible to the casual eye and entirely legible to the man who understands what he is looking at. For the textile connoisseur this is the cloth's most interesting quality, the hidden colour a detail that has no practical function other than to confirm that the cloth was conceived with more care than it needed to be.

Notch lapels and horn buttons give the front a clean, classical proportion, flap pockets at the hips completing the line without complication. The suit is fully lined throughout, the flannel's weight supported and finished correctly for a winter cloth of this character. The trousers are cut flat front with belt loops and a plain hem, the silhouette lean and uninterrupted from waist to shoe.

A grey wool-flannel pinstripe with a hidden light blue marl is a suit that dresses the same for every room and reveals itself differently depending on who is looking.
