Corneliani Brown Wool & Silk Micro-Pattern Leader-Soft Jacket

Discover the Corneliani Brown Wool and Silk Micro-Pattern Leader-Soft Jacket. The cloth is where the jacket's character is most concentrated. Wool and silk in combination produce a fabric with a surface behaviour that neither fibre achieves alone, the wool providing structure and resilience while the silk introduces a quiet luminosity to the weave, the light moving across the brown ground with a warmth and depth that a pure wool cloth at the same colour would not carry. The micro-pattern runs through this ground at a scale that makes depth rather than pattern its primary effect, the repeat close enough to the base tone that it does not read as a distinct motif but as a structural complexity within the cloth itself, the surface presenting differently at different distances and in different light, the kind of cloth that reveals more the longer it is examined. Brown in wool and silk at this level of finish is a tone with richness and warmth, neither flat nor vivid, sitting comfortably across a wide range of wearing contexts.

The Leader-Soft is Corneliani's unstructured interpretation of the Leader silhouette, the same proportions and the same classical Italian outline delivered without the internal canvas and padding that the standard Leader relies upon for its shape. The jacket drapes from the shoulder through the natural weight of the cloth rather than through construction, the chest falling freely and the body moving without resistance, the silhouette shaped by the wool and silk blend itself. This is the correct approach for a jacket cut with patch pockets and a quarter lining, the minimal interior finish allowing the cloth to breathe fully through the body and the lower quarters. Notch lapels and a two-button closure keep the front clean. Bronze mother of pearl buttons are set throughout, the warm metallic iridescence of the shell picking up the silk's own tonal variation in the brown ground and tying the jacket's surface together at its fastening points.

Corneliani understands the difference between a soft jacket that has simply removed its structure and one that has been conceived without it from the start. The Leader-Soft in brown wool and silk micro-pattern is the latter.
