Curator's Description
Curator's DescriptionDiscover the Eleventy Navy Wool-Stretch Herringbone Vespa Jacket, a piece that solves a problem most outerwear ignores. The jacket is built in two parts that function as one: a wool-stretch herringbone shell that provides the structure and the surface, and a quilted front panel that attaches within it and can be removed entirely when the season or the temperature calls for a lighter hand. The quilted front is the considered element: finished with a ribbed collar that sits cleanly at the neck, it functions as a standalone gilet with enough warmth and enough refinement to be worn independently through the transitional weeks when a jacket is too much and a shirt is not enough, the rib detail giving its neckline a finished, intentional quality rather than the raw edge of something designed only to be concealed. Together the two pieces produce a jacket with a warmth the herringbone shell alone could not achieve; separately they offer versatility that a conventional jacket never proposes. The wool-stretch herringbone carries the classic diagonal weave with enough body to hold the jacket's shape and enough give to follow movement without resistance, the navy ground reading with the quiet authority the colour always brings to a structured outer layer. The jacket is left unlined, keeping the weight honest when the quilted front is removed and allowing the herringbone to drape naturally. Flap pockets sit at the hip, and light brown buttons engraved with the Eleventy name complete the front. Made in Italy.
Eleventy has built its name on Italian sportswear that thinks carefully about how clothes are actually worn. The navy herringbone Vespa jacket is that thinking made entirely literal: two garments, one decision.
