Ermenegildo Zegna Navy Plushy Alpaca & Wool Winter Overcoat

Discover the Zegna Navy Alpaca and Wool Winter Overcoat. The navy reads as a single, deep tone at first approach and reveals its full character only when the light catches the alpaca at close range, a subtle royal blue warmth emerging from beneath the surface of the fibres as though the cloth carries a second colour within the first, the effect specific to alpaca's hollow fibre structure and the way it diffuses rather than absorbs the light that falls across it. Alpaca combined with wool produces a cloth with a plush, substantial hand that neither fibre achieves alone, the alpaca's natural lustre and softness sitting above a wool foundation that gives the overcoat its structural weight and its capacity to hold a clean line through the body. Notch lapels, a 2.5-button closure, flap pockets and a full lining keep the construction classical and uncluttered, the overcoat reading as a piece conceived for longevity rather than for a season.

The label reads Zegna, the single-name identity the house adopted following its rebrand in 2021 under Alessandro Sartori, a repositioning that moved the brand away from its traditional sartorial identity toward a more contemporary direction. Customers who dressed from the Ermenegildo Zegna line in its earlier decades will read this label immediately as a marker of the new era. The overcoat is produced through one of the manufacturing partners the house works with for its knitwear and outerwear categories, a supply chain approach shared with pieces from the Oasi Cashmere line. The cloth itself, sourced and finished to Zegna's specification, carries the quality the house has always demanded of its materials, and it is ultimately the cloth that one wears. This is a post-rebrand Zegna piece at a price that reflects its position in the market, in a cloth that reflects the house's enduring relationship with exceptional fibre.
