Etro Milano Denim Blue Pure Linen Herringbone Suit

Discover the Etro Milano Denim Blue Pure Linen Herringbone Suit. Pure linen in a herringbone construction is a cloth that carries two distinct qualities simultaneously: the herringbone weave's directional V-shaped structure gives the fabric a surface depth and a slight ridge that a plain linen would not have, and the linen itself provides the open, breathable construction and the dry, slightly textured hand that makes the cloth perform in warm conditions in a way that wool cannot. Denim blue in pure linen reads as a natural, unhurried tone, the colour close to the casual register of the denim it references while sitting firmly in the tailored context that a herringbone suit construction places it, the combination producing a suit that occupies the comfortable territory between formal and relaxed without committing entirely to either.

The notch lapels give the front a clean, open proportion suited to the cloth's character, the suit's summer configuration unencumbered and straightforward. The silk lining is where Etro makes its most characteristic statement: a multicolour striped pattern running the full interior of the jacket, the house's long-standing understanding of colour and pattern applied to the inside of the garment with the same conviction it brings to its outerwear cloths, the lining visible at the jacket's opening and at the cuff as a deliberate interior that becomes part of the suit's identity rather than a functional afterthought. Etro, founded in Milan in 1968 by Gerolamo Etro, has made the relationship between a garment's exterior restraint and its interior extravagance one of the house's most consistent and recognisable propositions. The trousers are cut straight, the leg falling cleanly from waist to hem in the uncomplicated silhouette that a linen suit in this register demands.

A denim blue linen herringbone suit with a multicolour striped silk lining is a piece that keeps its best detail for the people closest to the wearer.

The elbows show fading and discoloration, a characteristic that can occur with dark blue linen through wear. This has been reflected in the asking price. Overall, the suit remains in good condition and is ready for a second life.
