Curator's DescriptionDiscover the Jacob Cohën Wool and Summer Cashmere Golf Capsule Crewneck, a piece from the house's Escape capsule that translates the fantasy of a luxury weekend getaway directly into knitwear. The colour-blocked construction tells the story before the embroidery does: light blue across the upper chest and yoke reading as open sky, a forest green stripe cutting across the chest as the fairway, and sand beige taking over the lower body and sleeves as the course itself, the three zones sitting together with a graphic clarity that is confident without being loud. At the centre of it all sits a Porsche 912 Targa embroidered in alcantara, the classic 1960s sports car rendered in black with golf bags tumbling from the passenger seat and a red flag marking the hole on the green behind it, the Jacob Cohën name set beneath in the beige ground. The alcantara embroidery gives the graphic a tactile quality that printed knitwear cannot replicate, the raised suede-like surface of the material catching light differently from the knit around it. The wool and summer cashmere blend keeps the sweater light and soft, the cashmere component ensuring the piece feels as considered against the skin as it looks from the outside.
Jacob Cohën was founded in Bologna in 1985 and the Escape capsule is the house at its most playfully assured: a collection built around the idea that the weekend deserves as much thought as the wardrobe worn to work. Handmade in Veneto in northeast Italy, with a Porsche on the chest and a golf course beneath it, the brief could not be clearer or more enjoyably executed.
