The cloth is a flannel of wool and cashmere that earns its keep in colder months, substantial without being heavy, the surface carrying that particular nap that separates flannel from everything trying to imitate it. The Prince of Wales is done in warm grey with just enough tonal variation to make the pattern worth finding, the kind of check that reads as a solid at ten paces and reveals itself properly up close. Construction is everything you'd expect from a house with Neapolitan tailoring at its core: spalla camicia shoulders, handmade buttonholes, a 2.5-button stance and flap pockets at the hips with a ticket pocket above. Fully lined throughout. The trousers are flat-fronted with belt loops and a plain hem, offering no resistance to a sharp crease and no excuses either.

The label inside reads "La Vera Sartoria Napoletana," the original name under which Orazio Luciano established the house outside Naples. When his son Pino took the brand international through the 2010s, the commercial name changed; the making did not.
