Sartoria Voglio Grey "Fresco III" Wool Melange Sartorial Trousers

Discover the Sartoria Voglio Grey Fresco III Wool Melange Sartorial Trousers. Fresco is an English cloth with a specific and well-documented origin: invented and trademarked in 1907 by Martin Sons & Co. in Huddersfield, the name taken from the Italian word for fresh, the cloth conceived as a high-twist worsted with a porous plain weave through which air passes freely, the open construction providing the ventilation that a formal wool cloth worn in warm conditions demands. Huddersfield Fine Worsteds, which acquired Martin Sons & Co. in 1976, continues to produce Fresco to the original recipe and holds exclusive rights to the name, meaning that any cloth genuinely called Fresco traces its construction directly to this single Huddersfield source and to a standard held consistent for over a century. The Fresco III is a specific weight within the range, the high-twist yarn giving the cloth its characteristic dry, slightly crisp hand and its natural crease resistance, the open weave allowing the trouser to move and breathe in a way that conventional worsted construction does not permit. The melange introduces a second dimension to the grey ground, the colour produced not through a single dye but through a blend of differently toned fibres spun together before weaving, the resulting surface a heathered, multi-tonal grey with more depth and life than a solid-dyed cloth at the same colour would carry.

The trousers are cut with a double pleat at the rise, the two pleats releasing the Fresco generously through the thigh and allowing the cloth's open construction to move freely through the leg. Muted silver side adjusters sit at the extended waistband, the restrained metal tone in keeping with the cloth's composed grey ground. The button closure rise and the hand-finished extended waistband complete a trouser that understands its cloth and builds accordingly.

Huddersfield Fresco in a double-pleated sartorial trouser with side adjusters is a combination assembled with a clear point of view. It belongs entirely to the man who shares it.
