Sartoria Voglio Grey Scabal Wool-Flannel Sartorial Trousers

Discover the Sartoria Voglio Grey Scabal Wool-Flannel Sartorial Trousers. The cloth is by Scabal, the Brussels-based fabric house founded in 1938 whose position among the world's most considered cloth merchants has been established across more than eight decades of sourcing the finest fibres available and producing from them fabrics that the great tailoring houses of Europe reach for when the standard of the cloth must be beyond question. Scabal flannel is produced with the house's characteristic approach to raw material selection, the wool sourced for its fineness and the milling carried out to a depth and consistency that gives the flannel a surface quality and a drape that immediately separates it from what a lesser cloth at the same weight would produce. Grey in Scabal wool-flannel is a tone with warmth and body, the milled nap giving the ground a softness and depth that a smooth-faced cloth cannot replicate, the surface absorbing light and presenting a grey with character rather than the flat, composed reading of a worsted. The drape is the cloth's most persuasive quality, the flannel falling from its own weight with a fullness and a natural flow that only a properly milled heavy wool produces, the trouser leg moving as an extension of the body rather than as a separate structure imposed upon it.

The trousers are cut with a single pleat at the rise, the pleat releasing the Scabal flannel generously through the thigh and allowing the cloth to drape without restriction through the leg. Muted silver side adjusters sit at the extended waistband, the restrained metal tone sitting correctly against the grey ground. The button closure rise and hand-finished extended waistband complete a trouser built around the understanding that cloth of this provenance deserves a construction equal to it.

Scabal flannel in a sartorial trouser with side adjusters and a single pleat is a combination that requires no explanation to the man who understands it. For everyone else, wearing it will do the explaining.
