Curator's DescriptionDiscover the Sartorial Voglio Racing Green Fresco Wool Sartorial Trousers. The Fresco cloth is from Vitale Barberis Canonico, the Biella mill founded in 1663 and among the most respected cloth producers in the world. Fresco is a high-twist wool woven in a plain structure, the yarns twisted with a tightness that produces an open, slightly crisp surface with a dry hand entirely unlike conventional suiting cloth, the open construction allowing air to circulate freely through the fabric while the high-twist gives the cloth a natural crease resistance that holds a clean trouser line through extended wearing. Racing green in Fresco carries a depth and clarity that the cloth's open construction allows, the colour sitting in the weave with an evenness that a heavier, denser fabric would alter, the tone reading as both refined and vivid depending on the light.
The trousers are cut flat front, the clean line from waistband to break uninterrupted, the silhouette lean and precise in a manner that suits the Fresco's dry, composed surface. They are fully handmade, and this is not a detail that requires announcement so much as one that reveals itself to those who look. The stitching runs with a rhythm that a machine cannot replicate, the slight variation in tension and spacing that the hand introduces visible along the seams, the inside of the waistband as considered in its finish as the outside, the kind of internal evidence that separates a garment made entirely by hand from one that merely uses hand finishing as a final step. The extended waistband sits high and clean, horn buttons closing the rise with the correct material for a trouser of this character, belt loops spaced and set by hand throughout.
These are trousers for the man who turns a garment inside out before deciding whether to buy it. Everything he finds there will confirm the decision.
