Zanone Navy Rainwool Bomberjacket Cardigan

Discover the Zanone Navy Rainwool Bomber Cardigan. Zanone is part of the Slowear Group, the Venice-rooted collective founded in 1951 that brings together four Italian specialist brands, each responsible for a single category of the male wardrobe: Incotex for trousers, Montedoro for outerwear, Glanshirt for shirts, and Zanone for knitwear. The group's proposition is the direct opposite of fast fashion, garments designed to remain in the wardrobe for years rather than seasons, each brand a specialist in its category rather than a generalist across all of them. Zanone has been working in knitwear since 1986, the house's identity built on continuous research into yarns and textile technologies, producing proprietary fabrics that behave differently from conventional wool through controlled modifications to the fibre's processing, spinning and finishing.

The Rainwool is Zanone's weather-treated wool, the natural fibre processed to resist moisture and light rain without sacrificing the breathability and the hand that make wool the correct choice for a piece worn across all conditions. Specific technical verification of the Rainwool construction was not available through public sources, and it is worth noting that distinction honestly rather than filling the gap with assumption. What the cloth communicates directly when the jacket is handled is more telling than a specification sheet in any case: the Rainwool has the density and the substance of a proper outerwear fabric, the jacket carrying a weight in the hand that reads as serious and well-constructed, and then, when put on, redistributing that weight across the body so evenly that the heaviness disappears entirely, the jacket wearing with a lightness that its hand does not predict. The micro pattern running through the navy ground sits in the register of a waffle construction, the small repeating structure giving the surface a quiet tactile depth that a plain knit would not carry.

The jacket is cut in the bomber silhouette with a high standing collar that closes the neckline fully, the collar functioning in the manner of a cardigan's without the lapel's open invitation for cold air. Button closure runs the front, slanted side pockets sit at the hips, and the jacket is fully lined, the lining allowing the Rainwool to move cleanly over whatever is worn beneath it.

Slowear and Zanone build for the long term. A navy Rainwool bomber cardigan that feels like outerwear and wears like knitwear is the kind of thing that proposition produces at its most useful.
