Founded in Naples, Borriello has spent decades refining one of the most overlooked garments in a man's wardrobe: the shirt.
Produced in Southern Italy by a family-run workshop, Borriello remains remarkably faithful to the traditions of Neapolitan shirtmaking. Soft collars, elegant proportions and carefully executed hand-finishing define the house style, resulting in shirts that feel as comfortable under a tailored jacket as they do worn casually with denim or chinos.

The brand's signature Marechiaro collar has become something of a quiet favourite among enthusiasts. Generously cut without appearing oversized, it creates the soft collar roll that has long distinguished Neapolitan shirting from its more structured English counterparts. Genuine mother-of-pearl buttons, lightweight interlinings and numerous hand-finished details complete the picture.
What we particularly admire about Borriello is its restraint. While many luxury shirtmakers have steadily moved upmarket, Borriello continues to focus on the fundamentals: excellent fabrics, skilled workmanship and timeless design. The result is a shirt that often rivals considerably more expensive alternatives.
Having handled thousands of garments from makers such as Finamore, Fray, Kiton and Cesare Attolini, we consider Borriello to offer one of the strongest balances of quality and price currently available in luxury shirting. It delivers much of what enthusiasts seek in a handmade Neapolitan shirt without venturing into the increasingly ambitious price territory occupied by many of its contemporaries.
Sartorialista's core focus remains pre-owned luxury menswear. However, truly exceptional shirts are surprisingly difficult to source on the secondary market. Unlike jackets or coats, shirts naturally show wear sooner, particularly around the collar and cuffs, making pristine examples increasingly rare.
For that reason, we have chosen to complement our pre-owned collection with a carefully selected range of new Borriello shirts.
