Find Your Sartorial Size
Sizing in fine tailoring is a craft of its own. Every house cuts to its own pattern, a 50 from one maker can wear quite differently from a 50 from the next, and pre-loved pieces may have been altered along the way. That is why we measure every garment by hand and list its exact measurements on each product page. Those numbers will always tell you more than the size on the label.
A few things we have learned from years of fitting gentlemen in the boutique. Start with the shoulders: they are the one part of a jacket a tailor cannot change, while the waist, sleeves and trousers usually can be. And if you are tall, don’t assume you need a long size. High-end Italian houses, and vintage pieces in particular, cut their regular sizes noticeably longer than most high-street brands. Many gentlemen who wear a long size elsewhere fit a regular here perfectly. A true Lungo is usually only needed if you are very tall or have exceptionally long arms.
Use the Size Advisor below for a quick indication of your size, or compare the measurements of a jacket you already love with those on our product pages. Still unsure? Send me a message. I'm always happy to help you find the right piece.

Labels you may come across
| Fit | Example for size 50 | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Regular | 50 | Most men — in luxury Italian tailoring a regular comfortably suits men up to about 190–195 cm |
| Lungo (long) | 50 Lungo · 50L · 98 | Very tall men (roughly 192 cm and up, depending on size) or men with long arms — longer body and sleeves |
| Corto (short) | 50 Corto · 50C · 25 | Shorter men with a fuller build — shorter body and sleeves |
Italian houses usually write 50L or 50 Lungo; the numbers 98 and 25 come from the German system. Lungo and Corto pieces are less common and are always clearly marked on the product page.
Tall and worried a regular will be too short? High-end Italian houses — and vintage pieces in particular — cut their regular sizes noticeably longer than most high-street brands. Many gentlemen who need a long size elsewhere fit a regular here perfectly. Check the Center Back and Sleeve Length on the product page before you look for a Lungo.
The most precise method: measure a jacket you love
Your body measurements are only half the story — every house cuts differently, and pre-loved pieces may have been altered before. Lay a jacket that fits you perfectly flat and measure it exactly the way we measure ours (see How We Measure). Then compare those numbers with the measurements listed on each product page, or let our Fit Finder do it for you.
