The linen and lyocell blend is a considered combination: the linen providing the natural texture, breathability and inherent character that makes it the essential warm-weather trouser cloth, while the lyocell moderates the fibre's tendency to crease sharply, absorbing and releasing moisture more efficiently than cotton and giving the fabric a slightly softer, more fluid drape than linen alone produces. Light grey suits the blend particularly well, the cooler tone sitting with navy, white or pale blue above it as readily as the warmer linen colourways while reading as slightly more considered than beige or cream. The drawstring waist replaces the fixed waistband entirely, the adjustment simple and precise and the comfort across a long warm day genuine rather than approximate, the trouser sitting exactly where it is placed without the stiffness that a structured waistband imposes in heat.
