Angora comes from the Angora rabbit, one of the finest and softest natural fibres available, its hollow structure making it significantly warmer than wool at equivalent weight and its characteristic fine halo giving blended fabrics a soft, slightly raised surface where the lightest fibres stand fractionally away from the ground. Cashgora is less commonly encountered and worth naming precisely: it comes from the Cashgora goat, a cross between a Cashmere goat and an Angora goat, the resulting fibre combining the fineness and softness of cashmere with the natural lustre and strength of mohair, the hybrid producing something that neither parent breed achieves alone. Together with wool and cotton as the structural foundation of the blend, the angora and cashgora give the jacket a hand of particular softness and warmth, the surface carrying a plush, slightly luminous quality that the more familiar fibre combinations in suiting cloth do not produce.

The brown ground is warm and composed, suited to a jacket with this much character in its cloth. The Leader Soft is Corneliani's unconstructed interpretation of the Leader silhouette, the jacket built without internal canvas or padding, the blend draping from the shoulder through its own weight and behaviour rather than through structure. Notch lapels and a two-button closure keep the front straightforward, patch pockets at the hips and horn buttons throughout completing the jacket's relaxed, country-inflected character. The dark brown suede elbow patches are set into the sleeves in the tradition of the British sporting jacket, the suede reinforcing the wear point and adding a material contrast that suits both the cloth's warmth of tone and the casual register the Leader Soft construction invites. The jacket is half lined, the blend breathing freely through the lower body.
