Curator's DescriptionDiscover the Finamore Brown and Blue Wool and Linen Checkered Shirt Jacket, a piece built around one of the more ingenious collar constructions in contemporary Italian casualwear. The jacket closes with five horn buttons engraved with "Finamore 1925 Napoli," the full button run allowing two entirely different silhouettes depending on how it is worn: fastened all the way to the top the collar stands upright, clean and structured, the jacket reading as a formal overshirt with a quiet severity that suits the cloth's earthy brown ground. Fold the collar back and it transforms, the lapels rolling open into a notch configuration with a camp collar lying flat against the chest, the same garment now relaxed and open in the way that a conventional jacket cannot achieve. The cloth itself rewards attention: a warm brown ground carries a denim blue windowpane overcheck lined with a lighter blue within the grid, the multiple tones within the check giving the fabric a depth that shifts as the light moves across the linen and wool weave, the two fibres together keeping the jacket light and breathable across the transitional months. Patch pockets, an unlined construction and a ventless back keep the silhouette clean and completely unobstructed from every angle.
