Handmade in Naples using Kiton’s traditional 5-fold construction, the tie is crafted from a single piece of silk folded five times to create natural structure without any added lining. It is self-tipped, with the same silk fabric used on the reverse to ensure a cohesive and polished finish. This technique allows the tie to maintain a soft, fluid drape while offering enough body for a clean, balanced knot. Each piece reflects Kiton’s uncompromising approach to artisanal craftsmanship, where even the smallest detail is guided by care and precision.

Kiton was founded by Ciro Paone in 1968 in Arzano, near Naples. Ciro Paone was born in Naples in 1933; he came from a family of fabric dealers who had been operative for five generations – which have now become seven generations. For more than 3 decades, Ciro’s passion gave rise to the Kiton project. To maintain the beauty of this sartorial item, we recommend professional laundering and careful pressing. Even though ironing can effectively and easily remove wrinkles from your tie, the heat has the potential to scorch and damage the material, and it can leave your tie looking lifeless and flat. Steaming is usually the better option because it's much gentler on the fabric and can tackle the most stubborn wrinkles.

The tie shows a few minor pulls that are not repairable; however, they are subtle, the tie remains perfectly wearable, and this is reflected in the price.
