Discover the Kiton Brown Vintage Cashmere & Silk Pied de Poule Jacket. Pied de poule is French for "hen's foot," the name given to the broken twill weave pattern more commonly known in English as houndstooth. It is one of the oldest pattern constructions in tailoring cloth, built from a regular alternating sequence of light and dark tones that creates the characteristic jagged, interlocking shapes across the surface. In this cloth the pattern runs in brown tones, with the cashmere and silk blend giving it a surface that carries more lustre than a pure wool or cashmere equivalent. Silk in a cloth blend sharpens the definition of a woven pattern and adds a quiet sheen that shifts with the light.

The jacket is a vintage Kiton piece, sourced through the Olympic store, which places it within the period when the house was producing some of its most considered work. Construction follows the Kiton standard: fully lined, 2.5 button closure on relatively broad notch lapels, flap pockets at the hips, and horn buttons throughout. Broad notch lapels on a Kiton jacket from this era sit at a proportion that looks correct today without reading as period costume.
