Kiton Dark Grey Super 150's "Diamante Blu" Windowpane Suit

Discover the Kiton Dark Grey Super 150's Diamante Blu Windowpane Suit. The Diamante Blu is among the rarer Kiton cloths, a Super 150's wool woven to the standard the house applies to everything it touches: the fibre count high enough that the cloth falls with an almost liquid weight, the construction precise enough that the hand stays cool against the skin even as the fabric drapes with the fullness a suit of this quality demands. The ground is dark grey, not the flat charcoal of ordinary suiting but a tone with depth to it, and across it runs a glen plaid in the base weave that gives the surface a quiet structural complexity before the overcheck is introduced. The windowpane arrives as a fine bronze-brown line, thin and deliberate, the warm tone cutting against the grey ground with the kind of considered restraint that separates cloth conceived as a whole from cloth that has simply had a pattern added to it. The label inside reads Ciro Paone espressamente per Tie your Tie Firenze, a rare designation that places this cloth at the intersection of two houses whose understanding of Italian textile tradition is without peer, and whose collaboration produces something neither would arrive at alone. Notch lapels and a 2.5-button closure give the jacket a classical proportion that suits both the cloth weight and the formality the suit is capable of carrying, flap pockets at the hips completing the line without complication. The jacket is cut ventless, the true Neapolitan configuration, the back presenting as a single uninterrupted plane that preserves the drape of the Super 150's without the break that a side or centre vent introduces. The buttonholes are worked by hand throughout, each one the product of the sustained attention that Kiton's Neapolitan atelier has applied to this detail for as long as the house has existed. The trousers are cut with a double pleat that allows the Super 150's to move freely through the leg, belt loops and a button-closure rise keeping the construction traditional, the turn-ups at the hem adding a final degree of finish that anchors the trouser's line when worn.

Kiton makes suits at the level where the cloth, the construction and the details operate as a single argument rather than a collection of features. The Diamante Blu windowpane in dark grey, bearing the Ciro Paone designation for Tie your Tie Firenze, is that argument made with particular conviction.

Kiton was founded by Ciro Paone in 1968 in Arzano, near Naples. Ciro Paone was born in Naples in 1933; he came from a family of fabric dealers who had been operative for five generations – which have now become seven generations. For more than 3 decades, Ciro’s passion gave rise to the Kiton project. With the founding of Kiton, Ciro turned his greatest passion into a vocation, elevating tailoring from a modest artisan craft to an artistic expression: the love for beauty, the love for beautiful garments. His entire existence focuses on two fundamentals: passion and quality.
