Hopsack is the construction that makes it work in heat: the open basket weave allowing air to circulate freely through the fabric, the crisp, slightly textural surface keeping the white looking fresh rather than heavy, the cloth breathing as actively as the linen component demands. Wool, linen and silk in combination give the weave its character, the silk adding a surface luminosity that lifts the white with a quiet vibrancy, the wool providing the recovery that keeps the jacket holding its peak lapels and patch pockets in shape through a long warm day.
