The fibre measures approximately 13 to 14 microns, finer than standard cashmere by a meaningful degree, and that fineness produces a softness and lightness that regular cashmere cannot match. Loro Piana is the world's largest single buyer of baby cashmere and has been working with the fibre since the 1990s, with a level of access to the raw material and control over its processing that no other house can replicate at the same scale.

The sweater is cut in a slightly oversized fit, which in baby cashmere at this weight reads as relaxed without losing shape. The half-zip sits at the collar and allows the neckline to be opened or closed depending on the temperature, a practical detail that works particularly well in a transitional piece at this weight. The collar, cuffs and hem are ribbed, keeping the structure at the edges without adding visual weight.

Slate blue sits between grey and blue in a way that reads differently from either. It is a more considered colourway than navy, and one that works particularly well against the softness of baby cashmere, the muted tone carrying the lightness of the cloth without the visual weight of a deeper colour.

To care for this knitwear, we recommend hand-washing it inside out. Please avoid using bleach or tumble drying. If needed, iron it gently at a low temperature while turned inside out with a clean cotton cloth inbetween.

Subtle pilling is visible throughout the knit, consistent with light wear and to be expected from the exceptionally soft and delicate nature of baby cashmere. Overall, the cardigan remains in very good condition, with these signs of wear reflected in the price.
