Ralph Lauren Purple Label Light Brown Cotton-Corduroy Hacking Jacket

Discover the Ralph Lauren Purple Label Light Brown Cotton-Corduroy Hacking Jacket. The hacking jacket is a British country silhouette with a specific and well-documented origin: designed for fox hunting, the cut evolved to accommodate a rider on horseback, the slanted flap pockets angled so that nothing escapes when the wearer is in the saddle and the fit through the waist close enough to stay neat under movement. Off the horse and onto the street, these functional decisions become the jacket's aesthetic identity, the silhouette carrying the purposefulness of its origins in every proportion. The throat tab fastens across the open lapels to hold them against wind and weather, a detail that belongs entirely to the British country tradition and that reads, on a corduroy jacket in this cut, as exactly the kind of considered specificity that Ralph Lauren Purple Label builds its reference points around.

Light brown corduroy is the correct cloth for this silhouette. The cord's ridged surface gives the cotton a texture and warmth that plain-weave cotton would not carry, the pale brown tone sitting squarely in the British country palette without effort. The jacket is built with strong, structured shoulders that push the chest forward and establish the posture the hacking silhouette was always intended to produce, a stance that is less about padding and more about the jacket's cut working with the body to create a particular kind of presence. This is a jacket that wears the man as much as the man wears it. Fully lined throughout, slanted flap pockets with a ticket pocket above complete the front in the correct configuration for the genre.

Ralph Lauren Purple Label has spent decades studying the British country tradition at close range. In light brown corduroy with a throat tab and a shoulder that puts the chest where it belongs, the study produces something that feels entirely at home in its reference.

The corduroy shows a few scuffs to the upper area, consistent with light wear. They remain discreet but are noted for full transparency and reflected in the asking price.
