On a loafer the effect is particularly deliberate, the construction detail that typically lives at the sole edge brought into full view as part of the shoe's surface character. Saint Crispin's works this seam by hand, the stitching tight and even in the manner the atelier in Przemyśl has maintained across every shoe it produces. The apron is hand-stitched across the vamp, the thread tracing the toe's curve with the slight irregularity that distinguishes work done by a craftsman from work done by a machine, each stitch placed under tension and finished individually. To preserve the beauty and integrity , we recommend following a few specific guidelines: avoid prolonged exposure to sources of light, heat and humidity; avoid contact with greasy or oily substances, make-up, perfumes or solvents; it is best to avoid contact with water and place cedar wooden shoe trees in the pair after wear.

Note that these shoes were custom-made for their original owner and feature their initials on the soles. Normal signs of wear consistent with preloved suede shoes are present. Overall, the pair remains in good condition and ready for a second life.
