The stripe pattern is the detail that places this suit in a specific and largely departed moment in suiting history. Rather than the single chalk stripe or the clean repeat of a conventional pinstripe, the cloth carries a multi-line construction: one broader chalk stripe in a deeper tone anchoring the repeat, with finer white pinstripes running between each chalk line at tighter intervals, the two stripe weights alternating across the dark blue flannel ground in a rhythm that produces a surface far more layered and considered than a single-stripe cloth at the same colour. The effect is vintage in the most precise sense, a stripe architecture that tailored suiting understood and used through the mid-twentieth century and that the market has since simplified away from, the multi-stripe reading as something encountered in the wardrobes of men who dressed in that period and rarely in anything produced since.
