The Trofeo is Zegna's benchmark suiting cloth, woven from long-staple Australian superfine merino selected for fineness and resilience, the surface smooth and even enough that the cloth drapes with a fall closer to a fine dress fabric than to conventional suiting. The 4-seasons weight keeps it wearable across the full year. Warm taupe in the Trofeo herringbone is a tone with depth and versatility, the V-shaped weave giving the ground a surface movement that shifts with the light, the pattern present as texture rather than contrast. Notch lapels and a two-button closure give the front a clean proportion, flap pockets at the hips, the suit fully lined throughout. The trousers are cut flat front, the line from waist to hem uninterrupted.

Zegna was founded in 1910 in Trivero, Italy by a young entrepreneur called Ermenegildo - he was the youngest of Angelo Zegna’s 10 children. Angelo, a watchmaker by trade, had started weaving wool using four looms. From these humble beginnings, an 18-year-old Ermenegildo began using the looms creating quality fabrics that he described as “the most beautiful in the world”.
