Kiton Dark Taupe & Azure Blue Brushed-Wool Pinstripe Suit

Discover the Kiton Dark Taupe & Azure Blue Brushed-Wool Pinstripe Suit. The cloth is where this suit begins and ends. The base is a brushed wool in dark taupe, a tone that sits between deep brown and dark grey, with a speckled pinpoint woven through the ground that adds depth and movement to the surface. Brushed wool carries a soft nap that catches light differently from a smooth worsted, and at this weight and finish it has a presence that plain cloth at the same price point simply cannot replicate. Running through that ground is a pinstripe in azure blue, a colour choice that is unusual enough to make the suit immediately distinctive without disrupting its formality. The combination is the kind of thing that reads as a solid from across a room and reveals itself progressively the closer you get.

Construction is Kiton throughout: handmade buttonholes, 2.5 button closure on relatively broad notch lapels, flap pockets at the hips, fully lined inside. The house's standard of internal finish applies here as it does across the range.

The trousers are flat-fronted with belt loops and a plain hem, which keeps the leg line clean and unbroken.

This is a suit for someone who understands cloth. The colour combination and the surface texture of the brushed wool are not things that communicate immediately in photographs or at a glance. They reward closer attention, which is precisely the point.

Kiton was founded by Ciro Paone in 1968 in Arzano, near Naples. Ciro Paone was born in Naples in 1933; he came from a family of fabric dealers who had been operative for five generations – which have now become seven generations. For more than 3 decades, Ciro’s passion gave rise to the Kiton project. With the founding of Kiton, Ciro turned his greatest passion into a vocation, elevating tailoring from a modest artisan craft to an artistic expression: the love for beauty, the love for beautiful garments. His entire existence focuses on two fundamentals: passion and quality.
