Loro Piana Navy Baby-Cashmere Half-Zip Sweater

Discover the Loro Piana Navy Baby-Cashmere Half-Zip Sweater. Baby cashmere is combed from the undercoat of Hircus goat kids at around six months of age, once in their lifetime. The fibre measures approximately 13 to 14 microns, finer than standard cashmere by a meaningful degree, and that fineness produces a softness and lightness that regular cashmere cannot match. Loro Piana is the world's largest single buyer of baby cashmere and has been working with the fibre since the 1990s, with a level of access to the raw material and control over its processing that no other house can replicate at the same scale.

The sweater is cut in a slightly oversized fit, which in baby cashmere at this weight reads as relaxed without losing shape. The half-zip sits at the collar and allows the neckline to be opened or closed depending on the temperature, a practical detail that works particularly well in a transitional piece at this weight. The collar, cuffs and hem are ribbed, keeping the structure at the edges without adding visual weight.

Navy is the correct colour for a piece like this. It works as a layering component under a jacket or coat and holds its own worn alone over a shirt or roll-neck. The simplicity of the design keeps the cloth as the point, which is where the interest lies.

To care for this knitwear, we recommend hand-washing it inside out. Please avoid using bleach or tumble drying. If needed, iron it gently at a low temperature while turned inside out with a clean cotton cloth inbetween.

Subtle pilling is visible throughout the knit, consistent with light wear and to be expected from the exceptionally soft and delicate nature of baby cashmere. Overall, the cardigan remains in very good condition, with these signs of wear reflected in the price.

General Note: While we inspect each item to ensure its quality, please note that minor imperfections may be present due to the preloved nature of the garments. We strive to represent every item accurately, but subtle signs of wear may sometimes go unnoticed. We appreciate your understanding and commitment to sustainable luxury.
